Oil seal installation tool Stage6 for Piaggio scooters

CNC-machined and high-quality anodized HQ seal installation tool that makes installing crankshaft seals really easy. For scooters with Piaggio 50cc 2-stroke engines such as the Piaggio Zip, Typhoon, NRG, Aprilia SR, Vespa LX and many others.

Why use a special tool for installing oil seals?

The correct installation of oil seals is crucial for the performance and longevity of the engine. The seals must be installed absolutely level and at the correct depth for the respective application. In addition, force must be applied at the correct point during installation to avoid structural damage to the seal (bending).

Without the right tool, this is often very difficult. This is where the STAGE6 tool comes into play - it makes it easy to fit oil seals. The fitting tool is available for various engine types.

Composition of the Stage6 seal ring fitting tool

The tool has a modular design so you can save money if you want to use the tool for different engines. The body (left in the picture) is used with different attachments, which are fixed to the main tool by an O-ring.

Each insert is laser printed with the intended application so you can easily identify which attachment you should use.

There is an orange anodized cap on the back of the main tool that can be replaced; it will wear out over time if hit with a hammer. Fittingly, the prompt here is "Hit me one more time".

Use and installation tips Stage6 oil seal installation aid

When fitting, do not use grease/oil on the outside of the seal, otherwise you risk the seal not staying in place. In difficult applications, you can try moistening the outside of the seal with a solvent like petrol.

We recommend applying grease to the inside of the seals to lubricate the contact point with the shaft. Caution: No grease should be applied to PTFE seals or seals with PTFE lips.

The tool places the seal at the correct depth. You should measure the position of the old seal before removing it and check the position of the new seal after installation.

The tool can be pushed by hand. If you are using a hammer, we recommend using a PVC soft-face mallet to keep the tool in good condition.

First press the seal by hand for the first few millimeters to make sure it is properly seated before using the tool in conjunction with a hammer. This will ensure that the seal is not damaged.

Note: This Piaggio version comes with an attachment for the CVT side only. To insert the seal on the ignition side, you can use the tool without the attachment, but make sure you measure the depth beforehand.
