One of the easiest and most reliable ways to improve the performance of a 4-stroke engine is to replace / upgrade the camshaft. According to Hot Cams, depending on the machine, a performance increase of about 5 - 10 % can be achieved.

The camshaft specialists offer two tuning levels for most motorcycle models. Modifications to the camshaft result in larger or longer valve openings. The Stage 1 versions offer more torque especially at low end speeds. The Stage 2 camshafts are developed for power gains in the mid to high rpm range.

This type of racing camshaft requires a relatively high level of mechanical know-how, as it is recommended to also optimize the carburetion / injection to achieve optimal results and to maintain the reliability of the engine!
