Alpinestars
ALPINESTARS, THE HISTORY:
Sante Mazzarolo is an Italian craftsman working in leather and whose flower named Étoile des neiges (Alpine star flower) will inspire the name of his company since 1963: Alpinetsars.
The Italian has a strong interest in this new popular sport, motocross. A form of athletics that he considers beautiful but also brutal, and of which he quickly notices the particular requirements. So he sees it as an opportunity: to use his professional skills to create a discipline-specific boot!
Based in Northern Italy, the company produces quickly and supplies local importers to get pilot feedback. Very quickly, the revolutionary transalpine boot became a reference in the world of off-road motorcycling, becoming the choice of a certain Roger De Coster who would bring the firm its first world title in the 1970s.
The company builds a reputation for its creativity and innovation, and will take a new step in the 70s by also getting involved in MotoGP with Kenny Roberts who in turn will bring a first world championship title in 1978, this times on asphalt.
The reputation of the firm with the star is so excellent that it was exported and established itself in the United States in the 1980s.
The 90s saw the birth of other technical equipment from the brand, and in 1999, even leather suits!
Building on its success in the two-wheeler field, Alpinestars would also become an icon of motor racing, supplying shoes to Formula 1 drivers even before actually establishing an auto department in the 2000s.
In 2010, the company also launched into mountain biking equipment, a discipline whose requirements are similar to those of MX.
Today, the company of Italian origin is a leader in the world of equipment for motor sports and employs nearly 500 people in its subsidiaries based in Italy, California, Tokyo and Bangkok!
ALPINESTARS ACTIVE IN TWO-WHEELERS:
At the time of writing, Alpinestars is still the leader in its initial market, motorcycle boots! The many titles still obtained in 2021 attest to this:
Jeffrey Herlings in MXGP, Maxime Renaux MX2, Cooper Webb in AMA Supercross 450, Colt Nichols in 250 East, Justin Cooper in 250 West, Dylan Ferrandis in AMA Motocross 450, Jett Lawrence in AMA 250, Fabio Quartararo in MotoGP, Pedro Acosta in Moto3 ... And this is only part of the winners of the year 2021! The list of successes of the transalpine brand since its beginnings is impressive!
Do you need more proof to understand the supremacy of the star of the Alps?
This success is due to a constant desire to innovate to offer the best equipment to all pilot profiles. Thus were born the famous Tech10 Supervented, the new SM-5, SM-8 and SM-10 helmets, the light and comfortable Bionic 7 and Bionic 10 orthotics, or even a slew of ultra-light and breathable stone guards very popular in MX.
