THE BRAKE SYSTEM IS THE FIRST AND FOREMOST SAFETY MEASURE
The brake is an important component, its function is to reduce the speed of a vehicle and to bring the vehicle to a standstill as quickly as possible and over the shortest possible braking distance. The braking system consists of a brake lever, which gives the command to brake, a brake cable or brake hose, which transmits the command, and the actual brake on the wheel, which carries out the action. In the 50cc two-wheel sector there are two types of brakes: drum brakes and disc brakes. ...
The drum brake works on a simple principle: there is a drum on the outside, against which the brake shoes press from the inside. By pressing the brake lever, the driver pulls the brake cable, which presses the brake shoes against the rotating brake drum. Frictional forces brake the drum and consequently the wheel connected to it. A disc brake, on the other hand, works by means of a hydraulic system: the brake pump is connected to the brake caliper by a hose, pressing the brake lever creates a pressure in the brake fluid in the hose, which moves the pistons of the brake caliper inwards. They press the brake pads against the disc, which then stops the wheel. The disc brake has the advantage that it can provide progressive braking deceleration.
STRONGER BRAKES FOR POWERFUL TUNED ENGINES
Brake shoes or brake pads have to be changed on a regular basis because the friction lining wears out. If you change the setup of your scooter and the scooter has more power, the brakes may need to be upgraded as well. We have a wide range of brake shoes and brake pads, no matter if it's a replacement or a tuning/reinforced brake.
Motoforce, Malossi and Doppler offer brake hoses in different lengths which are identical to the original ones. Brake lines are available in different colours so can do a bit of custom work on your bike while you're at it. For vehicles with disc brakes, Motoforce and Stage6 offer brake pump as well as 2- or 4-piston brake calipers in superior quality.
Brake discs are available in all sizes and shapes, from frist-class regular discs to floating and oversized oversize models. Our brake discs in steel or stainless steel are manufactured by major brands such as Stage6, Motoforce, Galfer, Kiesler, Malossi and Doppler
Safety first, so don't forget to service your brake system regularly! And whether you do normal maintenance or want to upgrade your brake system, please make sure you choose the right brake.
