THE INTAKE SYSTEM
The intake system of a 50cc scooter consists of four elements. The incoming air is filtered by the air filter and then enters the carburetor where it is mixed with the fuel, in a two-stroke scooter this means a mixture of petrol and oil. The resulting air/fuel mixture is then goes from the carburetor to the reed valve via the intake manifold. The reed valve controls the amount of mixture that enters the cylinder, where it is used for the actual combustion process. ...
The intake system is the first and therefore one of the most important components of a combustion engine and should be in top condition at all times. A clean air filter is a prerequisite, and all other components must also be matched to the engine. If, for example, the displacement of the vehicle is increased, the engine will use more mixture for combustion, so a larger carburettor is required.

Many intake manifolds are made of metal and come with a matching rubber adapter, they can be purchased individually or together. The last component in the intake support is the reed valve with the reed plates or petals. We carry many spare parts in original quality, and for the tuning sector you can find racing reed valves, reedblock spacers and big valve kits from Stage6, Malossi, Conti, CBE and Polini. Reed petals are available in different materials - steel (original) or carbon, which are recommended for tuning projects
