The Polini "Maxi Hi-Speed" variator for maxi scooters is an excellent value for money CVT. The CVT, with the variator being one of the pulleys, has the task of changing the gear ratio continuously. This enables the engine to run at its most efficient RPM regardless of the vehicle's speed.
The Maxi Hi-Speed was optimized over its predecessor: The design of the roller tracks was completely revised to make even better use engine power and torque. The variator sleeve is lubricated with a special grease, with two seals preventing the lubricant from leaking. This reduces friction and wear and consequently minimizes maintenance and increases the service life. The overall performance of the variator was improved, with efficient variation, smooth shifting and great acceleration at every speed.
