DUMMY BEARING 6303 from Stage6

The Stage6 crankshaft dummy bearing is made of POM (polyoxymethylene). POM is characterized by high strength and rigidity and has a particularly low friction coefficient.

The black dummies are marked with white Stage6 logo as well as bearing code and bearing size. The dummies are sold in pairs.

Function and use of dummy bearings

Plastic dummy bearings are used instead of real bearings, e.g. to measure port timings and to machine the engine accordingly.

The precision fit bearing dummy is simply inserted into the crankcase by hand. In contrast to a real bearing, the dummy does not have to be laboriously pulled in by shrink-fitting, which protects the bearing seats ofcase and crankshaft as well as the actual bearings that will be used later.

The fake bearings can be removed again without effort after machining and measurements are done, and the real crankshaft bearings can be fitted.
