Check the tightness of your engine with this handy leak test kit.

The kit should not be part of any workshop. After assembling the engine, you can check whether the engine is completely airtight. Only a properly sealed engine block guarantees maximum power and allows for proper carburetor tuning. False air should be avoided at all costs when it comes to assembling an engine!

You save yourself the trouble of installing the engine block, only to find out that there's a leak somewhere and you have to disassemble everything again.

Scope of delivery leak test kit Stage6:

The connectors for the intake manifold can be used for virtually all carburetor sizes / intake manifold sizes:

• 1x intake plug 25mm
• 1x intake plug 28mm
• 1x intake plug 35mm
• 1x intake plug 39mm
• 4x valves

How to use the Stage6 Leak Detection Kit:

The rubber patch is installed between the exhaust flange and cylinder and seals the exhaust. For this purpose, it can be cut out as desired. Attention, can only be used with screw-on flanges. For plug-in flanges (like AM6), the exhaust must be sealed differently; we recommend an exhaust plug.

After that, the orange plugs are inserted into the intake manifold, use the appropriate size. 

Now air can be carefully pumped into the engine case via the valve, preferably with a hand pump or with a compressor. We recommend an air pressure between 0.5 and 0.8 bar. Caution: If the pressure is too high, there is a risk that the seals will be popped out.

Now you can use a pressure gauge (either the one on the air pump or tire inflator) to measure whether the pressure drops. If there is no pressure drop within one minute, the engine case is properly sealed and perfectly tight. With the help of a little soapy water, any leaks can be easily detected by bubbling.

To seal the spark plug hole, use a normal spark plug or, for those who prefer clean solutions, use the spark plug dummy plug from Stage6.
