Do LEVER Guards make sense?
If you actively take part in races or simply want to protect your handlebar ends as well as the brake levers and hands, lever guards are definitely the way to go. They have long been mandatory in motorcycle racing, and lever protectors are also becoming increasingly standard equipment for scooter races.
The lever guards protect the brake and clutch levers in the event of a crash, allowing the rider to resume the race. The lever protectors also prevent involuntary braking maneuvers in the event of contact with other riders. They reduce the risk of injury, as fingers can no longer be trapped between the lever and handlebar.
And last but not least - the parts give your bike a great racing look.
Advantages of Stage6 R/T lever guards
The ingenious thing about the Stage6 lever protectors: the angle and inclination of the lever protectors are continuously adjustable and can therefore be optimally adapted to the vehicle and rider.
Another advantage over many lever protectors: the Stage6 R/T protectors are not made of plastic, but are 100% CNC-milled from aluminium and anodized black/orange. They are therefore much more durable and look much better than other low-end products.
Installing brake lever guards
The lever protectors are mounted in the handlebar ends, i.e. you need open end grips or cut off the grip ends yourself. Carbon mounting paste is useful for better clamping in the handlebar.
Two different inner clamps are included:
1. For aluminum handlebars (clamping distance 14 - 14.5 mm)
2. For steel handlebars (clamping distance 17 - 17.5 mm)
Note: Depending on the clamp and handlebar, the lever protectors are secured against twisting to varying degrees. With a smaller inner diameter, they are less resistant to twisting; conversely, a larger inner diameter offers more resistance to twisting.
