Polini engineers were trying to find the perfect balance between weight and performance. The resulting carburetor is very compact and can be easily accessed once it is mounted. It is completely made of aluminium which means that its weight is reduced by 40% (!!) when compared to similar carburetors (same diameter).
Another innovative feature is the intake duct which was designed and optimized for better performance. It is very short which results in improved and accelerated air flow.
The overall design and performance of the carburator was checked and revised to ensure maximum reliability, make adjustments as easy as possible and, most of all, make it more fuel efficient.
Mounting the carb was kept simple, too, as Polini used the same connections and measurements as the standard Dell'Orto carbs.
