Polini developed the Maxi Hi-Speed variator line to boost the performance of your maxi scooter. This is the version for Piaggio Medley 125 – 150cc.
Polini drew on their considerable racing and tuning experience to design a CVT that represents a definite upgrade to the stock part, with smooth and stable transmission and better acceleration from take-off to top speed.
One of the performance-boosting features is the Nickel-Chrome sleeve to minimize friction. A DLC carbon treatment (for diamond-like carbon), used for heavy duty equipment and aircraft and supersport engines, and reduces friction and abrasive wear even more.
The cores of the variator roller weights have polished sliding surfaces, the outside shells come with a heat- and wear-resistant Nylon / Aramid coating.
The variator kit also includes a ramp plate, Polini's half-pulley Air Speed, a +20% torque spring for increased belt tension and higher rpm, and 2 sets of weights 19x17mm – 9.7g and 11.5g, for Piaggio Medley 125cc and 150cc respectively.
