Variators

Modern scooters and maxi-scooters are equipped with a CVT (for Continuously Variable Transmission), and at the heart of this automatic transmission is the actual variator. Gear ratio is adjusted automatically, it is infinitely and continuously variable. The underlying principle is simple centrifugal force. Variators are composed of the variator with roller tracks, a sleeve or boss, ramp plate, sliders and roller weights. Our catalogue contains many CVTs in OEM quality for scooters with Minarelli, Piaggio, Peugeot, GY6 or China 2-stroke engine. For tuning set-ups we recommend performance-enhancing sport / tuning variators like the Polini Hi Speed, Stage6 Sport Pro or Malossi Multivar, and if you want to go a bit further, you should get an oversize / overrange variator from Malossi or Stage6.
